Call for Guest Reader
‘Re·creation,’ an Anthology of Queer Poetry
Closing date: 28th May 2021
We are seeking an extra reader to help review and select work from the future call for submissions to Re·creation, an anthology of queer poetry with Stewed Rhubarb Press, supported by Creative Scotland Open Fund.
This anthology is part of a larger project spearheaded by the editors to offer creative and financial support to Covid-affected queer poets. All poets selected from the call for submissions, as well as those commissioned for the book, will be paid for their contribution and subsequently offered free 1-to-1 mentorship, workshops, and roundtable feedback discussion with the editors, other selected poets, and external facilitators.
To ensure equality and diversity within our selection process, and to give an opportunity to another LGBT+ creative, we are seeking enthusiastic readers to join our editorial team. The guest reader will be offered a wage of £200 and asked to commit ad hoc hours of up to a maximum of 10 hours over August/September 2021. In line with our commitment to equality and diversity, applications from BIPOC candidates are strongly encouraged. Please be mindful, and carefully consider whether you are the best candidate for this job posting.
This project aims to create an object of literary significance and further the cause of LGBT+ representation, and foster a network of emerging and established queer writers within and beyond Scotland. If you are a member of the LGBT+ community and interested in joining our editorial team, please apply by 28th May 2021.
We look forward to reading your applications,
Éadaoín Lynch and Alycia Pirmohamed
Editors of Re·creation
